Biographies
Emma Centeno - Singer
Born in Weslaco, Texas and raised in Robstown, Texas. Started singing at a very young age.
I believe I inherited my inspiration from my parents. Any where there was an opportunity to
sing I would and eventually singing in competitions called "Aficionados".
My singing experience has been 40 yrs Plus and what I sing is Mariachi and Ranchera
My favorite singers are Vicente Fernandez, Rocio Durcal, Juan Gabriel Among Tejano
singers Laura Canales and Selena
Currently I am enjoying my role as singer with Tierra Mala.
I respect the members of the band as we get along great and I feel we have good music for
the public.
Juan Gonzalez - Singer, Bass Guitar
Born in Robstown, Texes , I come from a musical family in which my parents, brother and
sisters are all musically talented . Started singing at a very young age, competed and have
always been in finals competition.
My singing comes from my heart my inspiration from my brothers and sisters, but especially
from my parents, as they have always been my greatest inspiration and guides.
I play the Drums and Bass Guitar. The group I've always Admired and followed as example
"El Conjuto Bernal". Their perfection, commitment, Discipline, Loyalness and heart and gut
singing have carried me through my whole professional musical career.
I have been singing for 40yrs Plus.
I love all types of music and I respect all fellow musicians the ones gone before me and the
ones here on earth. The life of a musician is very rewarding but also very challenging. My
greatest challenge and satisfaction is providing the best I can for the people in general
because they deserve it.
Currently I enjoy playing in the band of Tierra Mala. They are part of my family and I know our
band will grow into success
I love to sing with the group Tex-Mex ,Norteno and Country
Andy Gonzalez- Accordion
Born in Donna, Texas.
I play the Diatonic and Chromatic Accordion, compose my own polkas and pioneered the
Tex/Mex style in the Yakima Vally.
I have two sons, also musicians. They play various instruments. I have also DJ as well as my
sons have in fact the production and technical skills on the computer with music as it runs in
the family. I have been in the music business for over 30yrs.
I love to sing, it's in the blood. My appreciation for every type of music runs deep. I have great
passion and commitment to religion In fact I am a Deacon in church. Along with my devotion
and commitment to music and religion. I have a great career in Public Social work, helping
people in need of counseling and employment. I enjoy providing musical enjoyment to others
as it brings me great satisfaction.
I am proud to being in the Tierra Mala Band.
Adan Rodriguez- Bass or Bajo Sexto
Was born Mercedes, Tejas.
He moved to Sunnyside, Wa in 1960. In Washington 1991, Adan and his brother, Gilberto
Rodriguez started a band named " El Conjunto Del Mar". At the age of 14
Adan started to play the " Bajo Sexto" and later learned to play the Bass Guitar.
He played with his brother Gilbert Rodriguez in Tejas who became a recording artist of
"Musica Regional".
In the state of Washington, Adan played the Bass with "El Conjunto Del Mar" "
"Lupe Ayala", and now has joined to play the "Bajo" with "Tierra Mala". He has also
composed 3 songs. "Tu Diras Corazon", "El Jacal", and "Tu Destino".
Adan has had the opportunity of playing with "Valerio Longoria", and with" Ruben Loredo".
And has had also the opportunity to know " Ruben Vela" and his family.
He loves to dance to the Tejano beat since he was 14yrs old in the dance halls and patios of
all of "El Valle De Rio Grande". He says," No hay mas que la musica Tejana ."
Adan is also a certified teacher.
David Garza- Drummer
I was born in Hargill Texas.
3-6-50. Raised in McAllen,Texas, then moved to Fresno, Ca area in 1963 when I started
playing drums with Leonald Paulido y Los Cardnials, Roberto Paulido's uncle Roberto was
also in the band a long with another Sax player from the Layton Bros band
Then went on to play with El Conjunto Flamigo the first big time Conjunto from Sanger, Ca to
go one on one with El Conjuto Bernal De Paulino Bernal in 1965 in McAllen Texas.
Then in 1968 I met Steve Jordan y Los Jordan Bros. And moved to San Jose, Ca in the Bay
area where I played also with Brown Express, Bronze, Orceh, Boni Jordan and Jordan's
people, Kris Carmona Orceh. And my own band
La Herncia Texan band. Then I traveled with Steve Jordan to Corpus Christ Texas and
McAllen Tx & San Antonio TX where I also played with Joe Bravo. With members from Little
Joe & Latin Breed Bands.
Then in '97 I moved from San Jose, Ca to Grandview, WA where I met one of the oringinal
members of the Conjunto Flangio.
John Gonzalez had me meet Juan M. Barco a musician, song writer, mostly known for
writting hits like Don Luis El Texano. John and I and other Musician form John's old band
Tierra Mala Band and rose it from the ashes again and last but not leased Que Vivan Todos
Los Texanos Y Texanitas

Oswaldo Garcia- Keyboard
Born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
One of the 12 siblings 6 brothers and 6 sisters parents from Michoacan and Texas
Mother's family very musically talented. Uncles played various instruments including Violin,
Saxophone, Piano, Trumpet, Trombone among others.
Oswaldo, plays Guitar, Keyboard, Bass Guitar, Requinto and Vilhuela Currently Oswaldo
plays with Grupo Tierra Mala.
Oswaldo is very talented in playing vaious styles of music such as Trio, Tex/Mex , Norteno
and Romantica. Oswaldos music of preference "Rio", Trios of preference Los 3 Reyes ,
Indios Tabajares, Los3 Caballeros and Los Diamantes. Oswaldo's immediate family, sons
and daughters are all very musically talented in singing and playing instruments for several
years he led his family's own group known as Garcia Enterprise. Oswaldo also has 12 sons
and daughters he and his wife are members of the choir at church along with some of his
children that play in the choir. Oswaldo is a very good cook as well as his wife Jennie he
even makes flour tortillas by hand.
Oswaldo has 2 brothers in Texas that are very versed and experienced in playing with well
known Trios, Gustavo and Gustano Beto Garcia
